Vermont Teddy Bear Co. to Open a Satellite Bear Shop Near Ben & Jerry's Factory Tour Facility.

SHELBURNE, Vt.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 13, 2002

In response to demand for Vermont Teddy Bears along a major tourist belt in the Stowe, VT region, The Vermont Teddy Bear Company The Vermont Teddy Bear Company is one of the largest producers of teddy bears and the largest seller of teddy bears by mail order and Internet. The company handcrafts each of its teddy bears and produces almost 500,000 teddy bears each year. (R) (Nasdaq: BEAR) will open a new 2,000 square foot Bear Shop In Waterbury, VT about a mile from the Ben & Jerry's factory tour facility on the same scenic road. The doors will open Friday, June 14 to take advantage of brisk summer traffic with a publicized grand opening celebration planned for the weekend of June 29th.

The Bear Shop joins the Cabot Annex store complex located on Route 100, about two miles north of I89 exit 10 in Waterbury, VT and adjacent to Annex partners Lake Champlain Chocolates Lake Champlain Chocolates is a privately held chocolate manufacturer located in Burlington, Vermont. The company handcrafts over one million pounds of gourmet chocolates each year. Their products are sold nationally through independent specialty food retailers. , Cabot Creamery The Cabot Creamery Cooperative is an American dairy marketing cooperative started in 1919 by farmers in Cabot, Vermont.
