Vattenfall generates and supplies power and energy solutions to millions of customers across Europe and the Nordic region, including supplying electricity and heat to businesses and household customers.

Mercator(R) Integration Broker will be used to help enable the integration of multiple business systems across the Vattenfall organization with SAP R/3. Vattenfall has already implemented the Mercator(R) Solution at its Ringhals nuclear power plant Ringhals is a Swedish nuclear power plant with 4 reactors, three PWRs and one BWR. It is situated on the Värö Peninsula (Swedish: Väröhalvön) approximately 60 km south of Göteborg.  near Gothenburg in Sweden, creating a scalable integration platform for system integration. In addition, Vattenfall's business unit, Network Sweden, is using the Mercator(R) Solution for its corporate integration efforts. In the future, Vatenfall plans to use the Mercator(R) solution to support integration between Vattenfall and business partner applications.

Vattenfall's strategic integration goal is to reduce its large number of point-to-point interfaces using the Mercator(R) Solution.
