:VSOGF) today announced the results of a retrospective analysis of the effects of VasoCare(tm) therapy in 30 patients with active Rheumatoid Arthritis.

The results show a statistically significant improvement in key clinical and laboratory parameters of disease activity. Rheumatoid Arthritis affects approximately four million people in North America alone.

The patients, all treated and monitored by a senior physician in Essen, Germany, over a 2-15 month period, reported sustained improvement in arthritic symptoms and general well being (p<0.0001). In addition, following treatment, there were changes in key rheumatic rheu·mat·ic

counts (p<0.0001), which are additional disease activity indicators, were also significantly reduced. Consistent with all clinical experience with VasoCare(tm) therapy to date, no adverse side effects were reported in connection with the treatment of this patient group.

Dr. George de Veber, Vasogen's Medical Director stated, "While the results of this retrospective analysis will require confirmation in a prospective placebo controlled study, they are highly suggestive of a modulating effect of VasoCare(tm) therapy on autoimmune activity, a finding consistent with Vasogen's recent scientific research and our emerging understanding of VasoCare(tm)'s mechanism of action."

"These results are an additional indication that VasoCare(tm) therapy has the ability to beneficially affect the autoimmune disorders. In view of these findings, we will be expanding our research program beyond the Company's current focus into the broader spectrum of autoimmune diseases", said David Elsley, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
