Variable-volume pump for RIM metering.

A new variable-displacement axial piston pump designed specifically for high-pressure pumping of polyol and isocyanate was introduced at NPE in Chicago by Bosch Rexroth Corp., Lehigh Valley, Pc. Aimed at the PUR RIM retrofit market, Model A7VK is much more compact and 20% lower in cost than its predecessor, the "workhorse" model A2VK. However, it retains the same flange dimensions and drive shaft.

With a maximum speed of 1800 rpm, it provides outlet pressures up to 3625 psi psi peak). Flow rate can be adjusted manually from 0 to 28.2 cc/revolution with the help of an integral display in the handwheel. Once adjusted, the displacement can be locked to prevent accidental changes.

It can be used with or without a feed pump and has the feed channel separated from the drive work chamber, which is said to allow high-pressure filling of highly cots fluids.
