Vantive appoints Garry Hallee as SVP product development; leaves Platinum to join Customer Asset Management software leader.

Most recently, Hallee was vice president, research and development at Platinum Technology Platinum Technology Inc. was founded by Andrew Filipowski in 1987 to market and support deployment of Database Management software products and the applications enabled by database management technology and render related services.  Inc. At Vantive, Hallee is responsible for managing all development of the company's family of Customer Asset Management software applications and tools. He assumes all senior-level product development responsibilities from Steve Goldsworthy, chief technology officer, who has retired to pursue personal interests.

About Garry Hallee

Garry Hallee has more than 15 years senior product management and development expertise in applications development and expert systems spanning IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) , Aion Corp., Trinzic Corp. and Platinum Technology.

Hallee began his career at IBM Corp. as a software engineer, where he worked to develop a knowledge-based system (artificial intelligence) knowledge-based system - (KBS) A program for extending and/or querying a knowledge base.

In 1992, Aion Corp. merged with AI Corp. to form Trinzic Corp.

At Aion/Trinzic, Hallee held the positions of director of software development and chief technical officer, with the responsibility for all new product development and maintenance on AionDS and ObjectPro. Most recently, Hallee worked as vice president of research and development at Platinum Technology as the result of Platinum's acquisition of Trinzic Corp. in 1995. There, he directed a business unit of 60 employees covering the areas of software development, quality assurance, technical support, product documentation, product marketing and product management. He was responsible for developing significant new releases of the company's application development tools to exploit Internet, distributed computing (1) The use of multiple computers networked throughout a wide geographical area, or the world via the Internet, in order to solve a single problem.
