Vance Publishing names Walker president.

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL -- Peggy Walker, a 25-year business communications veteran, has been named president and COO of Vance Publishing Corp., publisher of Wood & Wood Products, Custom Woodworking Business and CLOSETS.

In announcing the appointment, William Vance, chairman and CEO, said, "Peggy's depth of experience in managing the multiple aspects of publishing in today's connected world was a primary reason for bringing her on board. She is a proven creative thinker and will be a catalyst for the new ideas and strategies our clients expect from Vance Publishing."

"Vance has long been recognized for our strong brands, leading market shares and dominant industry positions," Walker said. "We will be leveraging these strengths as we create new value-added venues for our customers. Many products are already in the pipeline--digital custom media, data collection and research, and special events. We will be releasing more information on these projects soon."

Walker has held management, publishing, editorial, operations and circulation positions at leading companies, such as Putman Media and Gorman Publishing. Prior to assuming the leadership role at Vance, she served as vice president and group publisher for The National Underwriting Co., a diversified media company serving the insurance and financial services industries.

Walker replaces Mike Ross, who retired.
