This new platform was launched today at the Microwave Technology and Techniques Symposium in Long Beach, CA. Rather than simply supply a discrete component, Valpey Fisher's integrated subsystem approach offers the design engineer a complete solution. The basic building block of every integrated subsystem features a very high frequency, very low phase noise reference oscillator oscillator Mechanical or electronic device that produces a back-and-forth periodic motion. The first product launched off of the Integrated Subsystem technology platform is a high frequency reference module that provides +20 dBm of RF output power and operates with extremely low phase noise (-90 dBc/Hz at 10Hz offset from the carrier, -170 dBc/Hz on the noise floor at 100MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc. ), and meets stabilities as low as 0.1ppm. Consisting of a high precision OCXO OCXO Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator OCXO Oven Compensated Crystal Oscillator , power amplifier and an output filter/matching network, the entire subsystem fits neatly into a 2" x 2" x 0.75" package.
