Valenti opposes GAAT text.


The GAAT (General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs), as currently proposed "is an arrow aimed straight at the heart of the U.S. motion picture industry. We cannot support - and - we will actively oppose the agreement if placed before the Congress in its present form." That was the reaction of Jack Valenti, president of the Motion Picture Association, to the texts on Services and Intellectual Property in the context of the Uruguay Round

The World Trade Organization conducts negotiations through what are called rounds.
