Valencia Ventures Re-Appoints Chairman & Board of Directors.

TORONTO -- VALENCIA VENTURES INC. ("Valencia") (TSX VENTURE:VVI) today announced re-appointment of Mr. Stan Bharti, P. Eng. as Chairman and Messrs. Lars Vannman, Patrick Reid, Peter Hooper and Doug Currie as Directors.

Peter Hooper subsequently has resigned from the Board due to other business commitments.

At the Company's Annual General Meeting, held June 8, 2005, shareholders re-approved the Company's 10% rolling Stock Option Plan and McGovern, Hurley, Cunningham, LLP were appointed auditors of the Corporation.

Following the AGM, the Board approved the re-appointment of Ms. Deborah Battiston as Chief Financial Officer and Mr. Tony Wonnacott as Corporate Secretary of the Company.

Mr. Bharti is a Professional Engineer with over twenty-five years experience in the resources industry, managing and financing mining operations with international organizations, including Falconbridge Ltd. Until recently, Mr Bharti was President of Desert Sun Mining Corp (TSX:DSM) where he oversaw development of the Jacobina Gold Mine on the Bahia Gold Belt in northeastern Brazil, which commenced gold production in March. Mr. Bharti is currently Chairman of Desert Sun and Crowflight Minerals Ltd (TSX VENTURE:CML) and remains on the Board of Directors of several other resource companies. Mr. Bharti has been Chairman of Valencia since April, 2005, having previously been a Director of the Company. His engineering background and extensive experience in mine development and resource project financing are particularly relevant to Valencia's current activities which are focussing on advancement of the Company's Mt Bundy Gold Deposit in Australia.

Mr. Lars Vannman, formerly Chairman of Valencia, has some 40 years of experience in the international mining and metals business, and has for the last ten years been an advisor and board member of public and private natural resource companies. Prior to this, he was a senior executive of Falconbridge Ltd, Toronto, and the Boliden Group of companies with such positions as President of Boliden International Mining AB and Vice President Marketing for Boliden Mineral AB. Mr. Vannman has a M.Sc. in mining and metallurgy from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm (1961) and is a graduate of Harvard Business School's PMD program (1975).

Mr. Patrick Reid, past-President of the Ontario Mining Association (1984 - 2004) and former M.P.P. (Rainy River, 1967 - 1984) joined the Valencia Board of Directors in April, 2005. Mr. Reid has in excess of twenty years experience associated with the mining industry and is Chairman of Probe Mines Limited (TSX VENTURE:PRB) and a Director of Canstar Resources Inc (TSX VENTURE:ROX). While President of the O.M.A. he was instrumental in establishing "Ontario Mining Week" to raise public, government and industry awareness of the contribution of the mining industry to the daily life of Ontarians and the prosperity of the Ontario economy. His experience will also contribute to the Company's strategic goal of becoming a precious metal producer.

Mr. Doug Currie, President & CEO of Valencia since August, 2004, joined the Company in December, 2003 as VP Exploration. Mr. Currie has over 30 years international mineral exploration experience. During the past 20 years he has held senior exploration management positions in Australia with Pancontinental Mining Limited, and was Exploration Manager-Western Australia for Plutonic Resources Limited and Homestake Gold of Australia from 1991-2001.

Mr. Currie led exploration teams to discovery of the Centenary, Just-In-Case (Wallaby), Plutonic 123 and Panglo Gold Deposits in Western Australia and participated in discovery of the Siguiri Gold Deposit in Guinea, West Africa. He has explored for uranium, base metals and gold in Canada, Australia, West Africa and Brazil.

Mr. Currie holds a Bachelor of Science (Geology) from the University of New Brunswick and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy (MAusIMM).
