Val W. Slayton, MD, MPP (Massively Parallel Processing or Massively Parallel Processor) A multiprocessing architecture that uses up to thousands of processors. Some might contend that a computer system with 64 or more CPUs is a massively parallel processor. , is the first chief medical officer for Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster, Mass. Health Alliance Hospital is a member of the U. Mass Memorial Healthcare System. In this position, Slayton will have responsibility for clinical quality improvement, building relationships between the hospital and the medical staff, as well as between the medical staff and the U. Mass Memorial Medical Center. Previously, Slayton served as chief medical officer for Tewksbury Hospital (a Massachusetts public health hospital) while employed at U. Mass Medical School, as well as serving as chief medical officer at Fallon Community Health Plan.
