VVA completes first phase of EMJ HQ project. (Design and Development).

VVA, the premier project management and consulting firm headquartered in New York, has completed the first phase of construction for the new North American headquarters of EMI Recorded Music at 150 Fifth Ave. in the heart of Manhattan's Midtown South district.

Phase I construction of this new high-tech, ultra-tailored and creative space, within a recently renovated, historic property was completed on an extremely tight schedule.

"We tapped VVA to manage this project because of the firm's reputation for bringing projects in on time and on budget," said Les Kelley, senior vice president, Human Resources, EMI Group. "VVA did a great job working together with EMI's Pamela Vaughn and our team within a challenging timeframe."

"This project required an extremely aggressive schedule as well as critical approvals from the Landmark's Preservation Commission, which posed a unique series of challenges," said Chiapperino, a principal of VVA. "In conjunction with our external project team, EMI dedicated internal staff resources to ensure all necessary project decisions were made in a timely fashion. This commitment allowed VVA to develop a strategy and guaranteed EMI that they would meet its deadline."

The first six floors of the new headquarters have been completed and the remaining three floors will be completed by January of next year. VVA has managed every aspect of the project from lease negotiations through the company's move to the new space.

The headquarters will house EMI corporate offices as well as several of the company's record labels groups including the headquarters of Virgin Records America, as well as the New York offices of Capitol Records , Blue Note, Angel and Manhattan Records.
