VOTERS EYE TIGHT CITY ELECTIONS MAYOR, COUNCIL TOP RACES AMONG TUESDAY'S BALLOT.

GLENDALE - Voters will head to the polls Tuesday to chose from a field of 13 candidates for City Council, 10 for the Glendale Unified School District The Glendale Unified School District is a school district based in Glendale, California, United States.

The school district serves the city of Glendale, portions of the city of La CaƱada and the unincorporated communities of Montrose and La Crescenta.

Some 5,500 of the city's 103,559 registered voters already have designated their choices using absentee ballots, with more coming in as Election Day approaches, said City Clerk In the United States, a City Clerk is an elected or appointed official who is responsible as the official keeper of the municipal records. Twedt said it was very difficult to predict voter turnout, given the myriad races and large number of candidates.

The last time the city held only a council election, she said, about 18 percent of the voters went to the polls. That number dropped slightly for an election that combined the council and school board races on one ballot.

This year's council race features 13 candidates vying for three seats, including two being vacated by retiring incumbents Sheldon Baker and Ginger Bremberg.

Mayor Dave Weaver is seeking a second term, hoping to hold off challenges by Mary Boger, Allen Brandstater, John R. Christopher, Pam Ellis, Larry Miller Larry Miller is the name of several notable people:

In the school board race, seven challengers are trying to unseat the incumbents Jeanne Bentley, Louise Foote and Chuck Sambar sambar: see wapiti. . The challengers are Jan Bills, Bill Bodell, Kathleen Burke-Kelly, Wanda Dorn, Greg Krikorian, Joe Mandoky, Catherine Yesayan.
