The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (42 U.S.C.A. § 1973 ff et seq. and strengthened voter verification. Saturday's election drew 246 voters, many who hadn't voted in the previous election. ``We just wanted to come out and support our neighborhood,'' said Johanna Solorzaon, a 19-year-old Van Nuys resident who came with her parents and sister to vote.
