 Rey de Espana can be labor-intensive, but with the help of more than 100 volunteers, organizers expect the weekend events to go off without a hitch.

The volunteers began working in February and have attended weekly meetings on top of all of their individual jobs.

Lopez, who estimates that she put in about 100 hours, designed and printed the events program that will be used by guests all weekend at the mission, in addition to many other tasks.

 Latino Arts Council, Lopez says she became particularly interested in the mission's bicentennial because of its ethnic appeal.

``The mission of the Latino Arts Council is to promote Latino arts and cultural traditions through education and events,'' she said. ``Many times, you have to go to Los Angeles to celebrate multiculturalism - a common history - and this was a good opportunity to celebrate in the Valley.''

Las Hadas will have a ``mariachi truck'' at the bicentennial, featuring the Las Hadas Mariachi group.
