The cities that VCSD serves are Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, and Thousand Oaks.  and neighboring law enforcement agencies A law enforcement agency (LEA) is a term used to describe any agency which enforces the law. This may be a local or state police, federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).  joined other community supporters Saturday in a yard makeover at the Simi Valley home of David, Christine and Ashlyn Bonebright.

The volunteers cut back trees and shrubs and trimmed the yard to lift the spirits of the Bonebrights, who have been busy since Ashlyn returned home from UCLA Medical Center UCLA Medical Center is a hospital located on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California. It is rated as one of the top three hospitals in the United States and is the top hospital on the West Coast according to US News & World Report.  in March, a year after she was born.

Ashlyn, now 16 months old, was born three months premature. She has struggled with lung infections and is blind.

Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  restaurant Dave's Flying Tamales, which donated a portion of its profits recently to help Ashlyn.

Other contributors to the effort Saturday were GI Rubbish, Enhanced Landscape Management, Rex White Productions and the Ventura County Deputy Sheriff's Association.

David Bonebright is a sheriff's deputy. The department provides police services to the city of Thousand Oaks.

``This is all about helping the family at a time when they shouldn't have to worry about such things as working in their yard,'' said Capt. Randy Pentis of the Thousand Oaks Police Department. ``Their focus is right where it needs to be -- on Ashlyn.''

The Ashlyn Bonebright Fund, Account 1032460, has been set up to help the family at the Ventura County Credit Union, 6026 Telephone Road, P.O. Box 6920, Ventura CA 93006-6920.
