A party will be held in March to recognize nominees and organizations that selected them. All nominees will be invited to this reception, along with spouses and the director of each nominating organization. Honorees may work independently or as members of organizations in providing volunteer service and philanthropy philanthropy, the spirit of active goodwill toward others as demonstrated in efforts to promote their welfare. Nominees must give of their free time - apart from their paid careers - and they are judged mainly for the impact of their volunteer service and its extent and duration over the years. Nomination forms and letters have been mailed to clubs and organizations throughout the valley. A committee of past award winners will select the next honorees.
