Like many other teams, freshman teams will rely on fund-raising fund-raising, large-scale soliciting of voluntary contributions, especially in the United States. Fund-raising is widely undertaken by charitable organizations, educational institutions, and political groups to acquire sufficient funds to support their activities.  by the schools' student fees and booster clubs A booster club is an organization that is formed to contribute money to an associated club, sports team, or organization. Allmandinger said the recent rise in the number of boys playing volleyball in the area prompted discussion within the district athletic council.

``There was always a group of young kids that you had to cut,'' Allmandinger said. ``As a freshman, if there's no place to play in one sport, you find some other sport to play, so many of them wouldn't play volleyball.''

The district's athletic council made the proposal in part because there already is girls' freshman volleyball.

Finally, after gaining the approval of the administrative council Administrative Council (Polish: Rada Administracyjna) was a part of Council of State of the Congress Poland. Introduced by the Constitution of the Kingdom of Poland in 1815, it was composed of 5 ministers, special nominees of the King  and superintendent's council this year, the measure finally made it to the school board.

``We felt it would be an equitable addition even though the district is in a cost-cutting and not a cost-adding mode,'' Allmandinger said.

Boys' volleyball started as club sport in the district at Canyon before it gained enough popularity at all four schools to become a varsity sport.
