The Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy of La Canada Flintridge girls' volleyball team got a good dose of confidence and humility - all in one match.

The Tologs defeating visiting Notre Dame Academy of Los Angeles 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 25-17 Thursday in a nonleague contest. The victory was Flintridge Sacred Heart's second in two days over the Regals, which eliminated the Tologs in last season's Southern Section Division IV-AA semifinals.

But what happened in the third game showed what can go wrong when the Tologs get too much confidence.

Three points from clinching the match, Flintridge Sacred Heart squandered a seven-point lead, and the Regals captured their only game of seven played in the two matches.

``You just got to finish the game,'' Tologs coach Shelli Orlandini said after her team lost a 22-15 lead in Game 3. ``That's what I told them. It's not over until you see 25 points. ... I think we started to get overconfident.''

Megan Connell led the Tologs with 13 kills and four blocks. Rachel Salvo added 11 kills and seven blocks, and her sister Rebecca contributed 10 kills and six blocks. Setter Sam Orlandini contributed 46 assists.

Notre Dame Academy's Bridget Hearst had 15 kills.

With the Regals moving out of the division this year, this week's matches were Flintridge Sacred Heart's best chance for redemption.

``It's amazing to beat them back to back,'' Shelli Orlandini said. ``It's been three years since we beat them.''

The Tologs dominated the first game, leading by as many as seven points. The second game was tied seven times before Flintridge Sacred Heart pulled away and extended its momentum into the early part of Game 3.
