VOLKSBANK TO INSTALL REUTERS TRADING ROOM SYSTEMS
ZURICH, Switzerland, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Volksbank is to install

at its new trading center in Zurich three integrated Reuters information management systems covering digitally networked keystations, voice communications and position-keeping, Reuters Holdings PLC (NASDAQ: RTRSY) announced today.
The core of the system will be 139 UNIX-based SUN workstations running Reuters Advanced Trader Workstation software networked on Triarch 2000, Reuters digital information delivery network.
Triarch's open architecture will facilitate access to digital datafeeds from Reuters and other quote vendors, composite pages, spreadsheets, graphics, limit-minding and data from the bank's own mainframe computer. It will also be integrated with the Swiss Stock Exchanges' Ring Information System.
The bank's Reuter Position Keeping Service (RPKS) will be extended to cover 60 positions. This risk management system will be fully integrated with Triarch, Reuters Global Limits Control System (GLCS), Reuters Dealing 2000 foreign exchange transaction service and a voice communications system, Digital Keydeals 2000, to be supplied by Reuters subsidiary, Wyatts.
Reuters supplies the global business community with a wide range of products including real-time financial data, transaction systems, access to numeric and textual historical databases, news and news pictures. Reuters has a controlling interest in Visnews, the international television news agency, and Reuter Group companies design and install trading room systems. Information is obtained from around 170 exchanges and over-the-counter markets, from some 3,660 subscribers who contribute data directly to Reuters, and from a network of about 1,300 journalists, photographers and cameramen. Reuters distributes information through approximately 205,000 video terminals and teleprinters. This includes clients' own terminals that receive Reuter data.
