VNU World Directories unit has acquired a 28% interest in Pagini Aurii (Bucharest Bucharest (b `kərĕst, by `–), Rom. Bucureşti, city (1990 pop., Rom.) the leading telephone directory publisher in Romania. Pagini produces 41 directories with an annual circulation of over 2 million. VNU said the purchase is part of its strategy to expand in the directories business, especially in Europe and that "we expect, in the long-term, Pagini Aurii has a substantial growth potential."
