VITALI: HEAVY HANDS, HEART KLITSCHKO MUST FORGET BROTHER'S LOSS FOR TITLE BOUT.Byline: Robert Morales Staff Writer Since watching his younger brother Wiki is aware of the following uses of "'Younger Brother":
How did Wladimir suddenly become so exhausted during a fight he not only was winning handily hand·i·ly adv. 1. In an easy manner. 2. In a convenient manner. Adv. 1. handily - in a convenient manner; "the switch was conveniently located" conveniently 2. , but for which he'd had a strong training camp? How did he come up with a blood sugar level three times the normal, as a postfight hospital exam revealed? The release of lab results, expected soon, could help answer these questions. In the meantime Adv. 1. in the meantime - during the intervening time; "meanwhile I will not think about the problem"; "meantime he was attentive to his other interests"; "in the meantime the police were notified" meantime, meanwhile , another question lingers: Will his brother's puzzling performance in a failed bid for the World Boxing Organization The World Boxing Organization (WBO) is a sanctioning organization currently recognizing professional boxing world champions. Its offices are located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. heavyweight championship weigh so heavily on Vitali's mind that it affects his performance Saturday at Staples Center? Vitali Klitschko (33-2, 32 KOs) will fight Corrie Sanders (39-2, 29 KOs) for the vacant World Boxing Council The World Boxing Council was initially created by 11 countries: the United States, Argentina, United Kingdom, France, Mexico, Philippines, Panama, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, and Brazil plus Puerto Rico, met in Mexico City on February 14, 1963, upon invitation of the then President of heavyweight championship. Sanders, of South Africa, knocked out Wladimir Klitschko in the second round March 8, 2003, which only adds to the drama. ``It was very painful for me,'' Vitali said of Wladimir's loss to Brewster. ``We live our wins together and we live our losses together. Behind this fight (Saturday) is a very emotional story. ``But emotions don't help you in the fight. I want to come into the fight without emotions, with a cool head.'' Emanuel Steward was the trainer in Wladimir's corner nearly two weeks ago. Vitali also worked the corner. Steward, who serves as an adviser to Vitali, said this week that Vitali has shown tremendous character in dealing with Wladimir's curious loss. ``I watched him yesterday when I got to the gym and he worked out real good,'' Steward said of Vitali. ``He seemed to be in good spirits Adv. 1. in good spirits - without losing equilibrium; "she took all his criticism in stride" in stride .'' To some, this might seem easier said than done. ``They are extremely close,'' Steward said. ``You rarely see one without the other. They had a military father, so they didn't have too much time to have long-standing relationships with friends because they were always relocating. ``That made them even closer. Plus, their age difference of about 4 1/2 years is enough for a big brother to be a big brother. I never saw two brothers love each other the way they do.'' Vitali Klitschko, 32, talks about how focused he is on his fight Saturday. But he also wonders what really happened to his brother. ``I know that Lamon Brewster is a strong fighter,'' said Vitali, of Beverly Hills via Kiev, Ukraine. ``But I was more than sure my brother would beat him. After the first round, I didn't recognize my brother. I saw my brother start to work very slow. ``There was something wrong. He was so tired. I bring him to the hospital and he couldn't walk by himself. I think somebody put some drugs in his food or water. I've heard about that in boxing, but I never thought it was something that would happen to me or my brother.'' The Klitschko family plan was for Wladimir to beat Brewster and Vitali to beat Sanders. Had that occurred, the brothers would have accomplished their goal of being heavyweight champions at the same time. Although it might now seem a more difficult task, Vitali believes it still can be done.
