VINTAGE FLIGHTS 'LAUNCH' INTO FUTURE; AIRLINE INTRODUCES NEW TOURS TO KENNEDY SPACE CENTER

ORLANDO, Fla., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Vintage Air Tours, the nostalgic 40s-themed tour company offering trips from Orlando to Key West, today launched its second service from Orlando to Kennedy Space Center, Fla. The one-day excursion trips include the romance of flying aboard restored classic DC3s and ground tours of the futuristic Space Center and Spaceport, USA. The fully inclusive day trips are $49 for adults, $39 for children, plus tax.
The 40-minute flight blends the travel of yesterday with a trip to tomorrow. Onboard, the journey through time and travel begins with the 40s bedecked crew and flight attendants recreating the golden era of flying -- original music floods the cabin and passengers enjoy authentic magazines from the era. The flight continues through the decades with corresponding music and news reels announcing historic developments within the aviation and aeronautics industries. The package includes an inflight introduction and a full day of ground tours at the Space Center. On the return flight (conditions permitting), the classic DC3 with its refurbished, oversized windows, makes a fly over the Space Center allowing a panoramic view of space travel's most historic site. This is the first time the Space Center has ever authorized fly-overs for a tour-operated aircraft.
Vintage Air Tours was launched on Dec. 2, 1992 by Richard Branson, the dynamic owner of Virgin Atlantic Airways and the Virgin Group of Companies. In addition to the two present Vintage routes, the DC-3 aircraft are available to charter for business meetings, corporate and incentive trips, weddings or pleasure outings. Vintage Air Tours is considering future routes to Key West from Miami; Orlando to Miami; and Los Angeles to Palm Springs.
