VINA Technologies' Multiservice T1 Integrator Earns Bellcore's Highest NEBS Certification - Level 3.
To ensure network reliability, many Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs) and Interexchange Carriers (IXCs) require new telecommunications equipment to be NEBS-certified before it is deployed in their central switching offices.
Bellcore, an SAIC company, is a leading provider of communications software, engineering, and consulting services based on world-class research. Bellcore defines NEBS Level 3 certification as the highest assurance of a product's operability. VINA's Multiservice T1 Integrator, designed for the small to mid-sized business market, is the first integrated access device to attain this level of reliability compliance.
The T1 Integrator earned Level 3 certification by passing a series of durability tests. GR-63-CORE NEBS certification tests a telecommunication product's ability to withstand office vibration, transportation vibration, Zone 4 earthquakes, flammability, and operational thermal conditions.
"As a result of the certification, our service provider customers can feel confident in the quality and reliability of VINA's Multiservice T1 Integrator," said Josh Soske, president, VINA Technologies. He continued, "Since the Multiservice T1 Integrator is an extension of the service provider's network, it is important to demonstrate its reliability under harsh natural conditions through the NEBS certification."
