McIntosh has extensive pharmaceutical industry experience in business development, marketing and sales, commercial operations, finance and technology licensing through his career with Merck & Co., Inc., Medco Containment Services, Inc., Boehringer Mannheim Pharmaceuticals Corporation and Zynaxis, Inc.

In addition, the Company announced that Francis O'Connell, currently Vice President of Finance, has been appointed Vice President and Controller. Mr. O'Connell will also continue as Chief Financial Officer of Innovir Laboratories, a majority owned VIMRX affiliate.

Most recently, McIntosh served as an independent consultant to SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals and other pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies where he focused on strategic and business planning, marketing, advertising, sales and business development. From 1993 to 1995, he served as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Commercial Operations for Zynaxis, Inc., where he was responsible for corporate-wide business development and commercial operations for the Therapeutics Division.

At Boehringer Mannheim Pharmaceuticals Corporation, where McIntosh served as Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Business Development, he was responsible for directing all commercial and operational aspects of the business including accounting, finance and human resources.

McIntosh spent 14 years with Merck & Co., Inc., in a progressive career with management positions including Director of Marketing, Antibiotics & Biologicals; Senior Marketing Director, Antibiotics; Director, Licensing & Acquisitions; Associate Director, Advertising; and Product Manager. He later served as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Vice President of Corporate Development for Medco Containment Services, Inc.

Mr. McIntosh earned an M.B.A. and a B.S. in Business Administration from Lehigh University.
