VIGLEN INTRODUCES INTEL PENTIUM 4 BASED GENIE PLUS PC.

Continuing its tradition of innovation, Viglen has introduced an addition to its Genie range with a PC featuring the Intel Pentium 4 processor. This integration of the latest Pentium processor means that not only is the Genie Plus with Pentium 4 Viglen's fastest ever PC, but it is one of the very first computers to incorporate this latest Intel technology.

Boasting NetBurst microarchitecture and incorporating advanced dynamic execution, a rapid execution engine and a new cache subsystem, the Pentium 4 processor will mean a dramatic improvement on the performance of current applications and will facilitate applications previously only found on workstations.

The sheer speed of the Pentium 4 processor - a transfer rate of 3.2GB/sec, three times that of the Pentium III, will allow desktop PCs increased productivity. The hyper-pipelined technology doubles the amount of instructions that can be executed at one time, ensuring that the most demanding of applications run at lightning speed - perfect for multitasking environments.

Available with the Intel Pentium 4 running at 1.4GHz and 1.5GHz, the new Genie Plus boasts unsurpassed PC performance, delivering the level of processing power previously only seen in enterprise servers. Not only does its Intel 850 based motherboard feature the most powerful chipset available on the PC market, but with a Front Side Bus speed operating at a staggering 400MHz, the 850 is three times faster than the 815 or 820 chipset.

As with all Genie Plus PCs, the powerful CPU is complemented with RAMBUS memory, designed specifically to reduce the performance bottleneck associated with standard SDRAM - particularly appropriate in such a high performance system. This new memory technology provides the highest levels of data throughput.

Bordan Tkachuk, chief executive of Viglen said: "Viglen's partnership with Intel demonstrates our determination to always deliver relevant new technology to our customers. I am confident that the combination of the Genie Plus and Intel's Pentium 4 technology will mean one of the most powerful PCs available on the market today. This combination will not only ensure an ability to cope with the processor-hungry applications of today, but an ability to withstand the challenges of the next generation of operating systems and applications."

Prices for the Genie Plus with Pentium 4 start at GBP1233 (excluding VAT and delivery). With an expected ship date with 4 to 6 weeks.
