The Antelope Valley
 civic leaders as aids to boosting the local economy were passed by the state Assembly, and now move on to the state Senate, officials said Thursday Thursday: see week. .

One bill provides funding to build a veterans home in Lancaster, where city officials already have set aside land, and the second provides tax relief for aerospace companies.

The veterans home bill, AB 2015, passed by a 64-0 vote. It authorizes the state to issue $36 million in revenue bonds for three new veterans homes - in Chula Vista Chula Vista (ch`lə), city (1990 pop. 135,163), San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1911. , Lancaster and a third city to be determined later.

The bill provides 35 percent of the funding needed to build each home, with the rest expected to come from federal grants.

The aerospace tax bill, AB 2361, was passed by a 49-14 vote. The bill provides state income tax credits ranging from 0.5 percent to 1.5 percent per year on sales made to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), civilian agency of the U.S. federal government with the mission of conducting research and developing operational programs in the areas of space exploration, artificial satellites (see satellite, artificial),  or the Defense Department. The credit would start in 1997 and continue through 2001 under the bill, officials said.
