VETERAN DANCER'S GOT RHYTHM.

PALMDALE - Boogie Woogie Mamas member Bobbye Shiel was recently awarded a gold pin for her 15 years of dancing in the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

Shiel joined the senior tap dancers in January 1989 and has seen their numbers grow from only a few dancers to nearly 50. She has also taken part in many regional and national competitions in which the Boogie Woogie Mamas brought home gold and platinum awards.

Not satisfied with just dancing, at age 73 Shiel has taken an active part in designing costumes and home decor accessories. She recently made 66 ``quillos'' (combination quilt and pillow pillow Medtalk A functional 'unit' used to assess the severity of orthopnea in Pts with CHF, which refers to the number of pillows a Pt needs to sleep comfortably. Bobbye Shiel, 73, has tap-danced with Antelope antelope, name applied to a large number of hoofed, ruminant mammals of the cattle family (Bovidae), which also includes the sheep and goats. The North American pronghorn is sometimes called an antelope, but belongs to a separate, related family (Antilocapridae).  Valley's award-winning Boogie Woogie Mamas troupe for 15 years.
