VETERAN COMEDY WRITER FRED S. FOX DEAD AT 90.

A memorial service will be held Sunday for veteran comedy writer Fred S. Fox of Encino, who worked for legends like Bob Hope, George Burns Noun 1. George Burns - United States comedian and film actor (1896-1996)
Burns, Nathan Birnbaum
 and Lucille Ball during his 50-year career.

Fox died Oct. 23 of pneumonia. He was 90.

A native of St. Louis, Mo., and a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley (body, education) University of California at Berkeley - (UCB)

He worked for the Office of War Information at the start of World War II, then moved to Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  in 1943, where he launched his career as a comedy writer. He joined Hope's staff a year later, beginning a business relationship and friendship that spanned decades.

In 1946, Bob and Delores Hope even offered Fox and his bride, Mercedes Bigue, the use of their Palm Springs home after the comedian made his writer work during his honeymoon.

Survivors include his twin children, Jan Fox and Fred Jr.; a granddaughter, Francesca; and a brother, Henry Fox.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Writer's Guild Theater, 135 S. Doheny Drive, Beverly Hills.

Memorial contributions may be made to donor's charity.
