Ventura County sheriff's deputies arrested 32-year-old Michael Neighbors in the stolen 1996 green minivan after he was involved in a non-injury collision Tuesday evening near A Street in Fillmore.

Neighbors remained in custody on $100,000 bail Thursday and was scheduled to return Aug. 3 to Newhall Municipal Court for a preliminary hearing to determine if he will stand trial.

The owner of the minivan, 37-year-old Tina Rost, had moved to Valencia 13 years ago after enduring an armed robbery and a mugging. She and her husband, Joseph, had been mugged in front of their Northridge home. Rost also witnessed an armed robbery while she worked as a bookkeeper at a grocery store.

The mother of four parked the family minivan outside a private neighborhood pool on Oak Vale Drive and sent her 11-year-old son to retrieve her 6- and 7-year old children from swimming lessons Tuesday afternoon.

While 2-year-old Griffin sat behind Rost in his car seat, a man walked to the van, opened her door and ordered her out, grabbing her arm, she said.

Rost got out, then quickly opened the sliding rear door to grab her son before the man drove away.

Neighbors was also sought earlier Tuesday by deputies who responded to the home of Neighbor's parents on Rotunda rotunda
