VENEZUELA - Methanol.Two JVs produce methanol methanol, methyl alcohol, or wood alcohol, CH3OH, a colorless, flammable liquid that is miscible with water in all proportions. Methanol is a monohydric alcohol. It melts at −97. at Jos: Metor, on stream since 1994, owned 35% by Pequiven, 22.75% by each of Mitsubishi Corp. and Mitsubishi Gas of Japan, and the other partners are Polar & the World Bank's International Finance Corp. Supermethanol has a capacity of 690,000 t/y, which is to be raised to about 1.3m t/y.
