VEHICLES COLLIDE IN A.V. AREA 2 VICTIMS AIRLIFTED TO AREA HOSPITAL FOLLOWING CRASH.

The driver of one car and two passengers in the sport utility vehicle that tried to pass it were listed in stable condition from injuries suffered in the crash at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday on Palmdale Boulevard near 130th Street East. A third SUV passenger was kept in a hospital overnight for observation.

Margarita Guevara, 43 of Palmdale, had to be airlifted to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Newhall with multiple internal injuries, officials said. She was reported Wednesday in stable condition.

Shanika Finks, 20, of Palmdale, who is pregnant and was riding in the sport utility vehicle, was also airlifted to Henry Mayo Hospital The Mayo Hospital is located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It is a teaching hospital of King Edward Medical College. The college is located in Old Anarkali in Lahore city.  in Newhall for precautionary reasons. She was released Wednesday, officials said.

 Jimmy, pulled into the westbound lane to pass the slowing cars, officers said.

Seeing Guevara's car turning in front of him, Smith swerved to the left but was unable to avoid hitting it. The sport utility vehicle sent the Toyota spinning, then flipped upside down.

``He tried to pull left but it didn't do much good,'' said Davidson. ``He left the road and overturned.''

Smith will be issued a citation for passing within 100 feet of an intersection, CHP officers said.
