, credit cards and mail believed stolen in vehicle burglaries in Castaic and Newhall, detective Dan Finn said.

Many of the items were recovered Monday after sheriff's deputies searched two rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in Valencia, locking down two rooms that had been rented by one of the suspects, Finn said.

The case opened Sunday when Deputy Julie Schlegel arrested a 17-year-old driving a stolen car, Finn said.

``Inside the vehicle was a number of items that turned out to be from recent vehicle burglaries in the Castaic and Newhall areas,'' he said.

Detectives following up on Monday arrested two more suspects, Jesus Gonzalez, 19, and Carlos Trujillo, 18, leaving the Holiday Inn. In their car were more stolen goods, Finn said.

That woman, Cassandra Lafon, 21, was arrested Monday night at her Saugus home and agreed to take deputies to the pickup, parked near the hotel and containing still more stolen items, the detective said.

Finn said investigators believe the spree had been going on since Sept. 6 and that ``we've only put a dent in what these individuals are responsible for.''

By Wednesday, detectives had tracked down eight victims but believe there could be more. Finn asked that residents who have been victims recently of car burglars are asked to call the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's station at (661) 255-1121.
