VARBusiness names Lexmark X342n best monochrome AIO printer for the mid-market.

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- VARBusiness, a leading publication for channel resellers, recently named the Lexmark X342n monochrome laser all-in-one (AIO) printer to its 2006 Best of the Mid-market product list.

VARBusiness defined the mid-market as companies with 100 to 999 employees and chose products across nine different categories that best fit customers in this segment. The Lexmark X342n was the only monochrome laser AIO featured on the list.

The Lexmark X342n, which features print, copy, scan and fax capability for an estimated street price of $399(a), is an affordable, feature-rich AIO for business customers. The Lexmark X340 series includes business-class PCL 6 emulation, 64MB of standard memory and a high-speed USB 2.0 port to process complex jobs quickly. Robust fax features, such as a 33.6 Kbps modem and 10 fax speed dials, ensure quick and easy faxing, and a 50-page automatic document feeder is included to help customers save time. Customers who purchase the X342n can also take advantage of a lower cost-per-page option with a 6,000-page(b) toner cartridge.

"Lexmark's new monochrome MFP makes good time, producing the first print in about 10 seconds and printing 27 pages per minute. This networked MFP handles scanning, faxing, copying and printing (using PCL 6 emulation) and can be used in a wide variety of small and mid-size businesses. It's affordable and practical enough for home offices but also will work nicely in midsize enterprises," VARBusiness said.

For users that expect to print more modest volumes, Lexmark also offers the Lexmark X340n monochrome laser AIO for an estimated street price of $349(a). It has the same functionality but a lower acquisition cost than the Lexmark X342n, and supports a 2,500-page(b) toner cartridge.
