VALLEY GETTING FESTIVE THROUGHOUT WEEKEND.

PALMDALE - Water, health and homes are the focus of weekend festivals.

Palmdale Water District hosts its annual Water Awareness Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday outside the water district office, 2029 E. Ave. Q. Admission is free.

At Pelona Vista Park, the annual Life Festival will offer free health screenings, a petting zoo and live entertainment.

Hosted by High Desert Medical Group, Heritage Health Care and California Desert Medical Group, the festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the park, 37700 Tierra Subida Road.

There will be health screenings for blood sugar, body fat analysis and blood pressure. Vendor booths, bingo and food will be available all day.

The Anaverde Visitor Center is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 234 W.
