Retailing for $9.95, the Multimedia Yearbooks commemorate a year using newsreel footage, movie trailers, facts and a trivia quiz. The CD-ROM discs are jacketed in a greeting card and envelope that can be displayed in revolving racks used for traditional paper cards.

Jasmine President Jay Alan Samit said he hopes to place the racks in tens of thousands of greeting card stores across the country, thereby bypassing computer and software stores where shelf space for a tidal wave tidal wave, term properly applied to the crest of a tide as it moves around the earth. "You end up paying so much for shelf space that you're lucky to break even," Samit said.

Jasmine, publishers of the popular "Vid Grid" series of multimedia puzzles, is also showing a Vatican-sanctioned CD-ROM history of the Catholic Church called "Inside the Vatican," and a CD-ROM biography of master caricaturist Al Hirschfeld Noun 1. Ora's award was in the lifestyle electronics category. Available in five models that support most cellular phone brands, VibraRing batteries cost $99.95.

The batteries cause the phone to vibrate even when the volume is turned all the way down.

"It's a very-easy-to-use system. You don't have to set it up," said Ora President Gershon Cooper.

VibraRing also silences the ringing some portable cellular phones emit during outgoing calls.

Founded in 1974, Ora is a supplier of accessories and enhancements for cellular phones, pagers, computer/home office equipment and telephone accessories.
