The sprawling, multi-centered megacity is such that its downtown core is often considered just another district like Hollywood or artists' opening their home studios to visitors. ``The true payoff I feel was getting the public approval on what we were all doing,'' artist Dave Barnett said of his first walk participation. The Art Walk will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Sunday at the six locations, all along Spunky spunk·y adj. spunk·i·er, spunk·i·est Informal Spirited; plucky. spunk i·ly adv. Barnett said the Green Valley event was inspired by downtown Los Angeles art walks at a place called the Brewery A brewery can be a building or place that produces beer, or a business (brewing company) whose trade is the production and sale of beer. Breweries can take up multiple city blocks, or be a collection of equipment in a homebrewer's kitchen. , where artists live and work. Five years ago, Barnett and Don Griggs asked to set up their own display in a unit that was vacant. They didn't know whether their display of metal sculptures, canvases, stuff out of their yards and a fountain that Griggs was creating for a customer was going to get laughed at, but it ended up drawing an enthusiastic response, Barnett said. They decided to do it again at home, where friends and neighbors could see it, Barnett said. Opening a studio to the public gets an artist feedback from the public, ideas to make the work better and commissions to do other work, Barnett said. ``Don't be afraid to talk to the artist and/or give them your responses,'' he said of visitors. The six studios and galleries are located between Calle Cascarron and Calle Desconocido on Spunky Canyon Road in Green Valley, which is between Bouquet bouquet a structure resembling a cluster of flowers.
