VALENCIA LIBRARY TO REOPEN MONDAY.

Byline: Daily News

SANTA CLARITA - The Valencia Library will reopen Monday after closing for more than two weeks for a telecommunications systems upgrade.

Since Oct. 4, the $2.6 million rewiring project has upgraded the voice and data cabling systems to accommodate the requirements of technology advancements and to improve customer service as well as communication activities.

``We're trying to bring all infrastructures up to date,'' said Josie Reyes, assistant library administrator in the north county region.

All county libraries are undergoing wire upgrades that will speed up Internet connections and prepare the facilities to handle future technologies, she said. The Newhall Library received similar upgrades in April 2000.

The Valencia Library, the busiest library in Los Angeles County, is located at 23743 W. Valencia Blvd.
