V-Secure was selected among 13 technology vendors by The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate Cyber Security Research and Development Program within the Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA HSARPA Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency ).

"One of the goals of the Cyber Security R&D Center is to identify and support emerging security technologies being developed in the private sector. The Emerging Security Technology Forum is our first event that brings vendors and government representatives together to learn about government needs and the technology solutions that may be available to meet those needs," said Douglas Maughan, Cyber Security Program Manager within DHS S&T HSARPA.

The ESTF is an opportunity to introduce government representatives to smaller-sized information security technology vendors whose innovative approaches can help to continually assess and prevent security risks in the nation's critical infrastructure. For this ESTF vendors will present and demonstrate current and emerging information security technologies that defend against DDOS See denial of service attack.  and worm attacks. The audience will include federal, state, and local government technologists, technical managers, and others responsible for incorporating new technologies into critical government infrastructures.

A critical area of focus for the DHS S&T Directorate is the development and deployment of technologies to protect the nation's cyber infrastructure including the Internet and other critical infrastructures that depend on computer systems for their mission.
