V-ONE Corporation (OTCPK: VONE), a leading Internet security technology company, today announced their participation in the continued expansion of the Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) Program using V-ONE's SmartGate(R) technology to secure electronic communication within the RISS Anti-Terrorism Information Exchange (ATIX) Program.

ATIX is one of the important initiatives in the Justice Department's expansion of sensitive but unclassified law enforcement networks to share data for homeland defense. Law enforcement agencies can use ATIX to safely distribute information to authorized government personnel, and public officials and private sector organizations. ATIX will include thirty two types of federal, state, local, and tribal "public safety" communities, including public health organizations, fire departments, public utilities, emergency management agencies and school systems that are responsible for preventing, responding to, and recovering from the spectrum of terrorist threats and disasters.

ATIX provides secure information sharing for local, state and federal law enforcement agencies via the RISS network, a secure, web-based nation-wide law enforcement information-sharing network. Funded by the Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance, RISS provides services to sworn officers in more that 6,000 criminal justice agencies in the 50 States, the district of Columbia, U.S. Territories, Canada, England, and Australia. In addition to linking six regional RISS center resources, the RISS network provides connectivity to the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas, Criminal Information Sharing Alliance (CISA), DEA's El Paso Intelligence Center, National White Collar Crime Center, and the United States Attorneys' Offices, as well as many other federal and state law enforcement systems.

The RISS network uses V-ONE's distinctive SmartGate technology to allow only specified information to be shared with authorized individuals, assuring security of the data on the network.
