Utimaco - The Data Security Company and GSMK, the mobile voice security company are launching the first PDA and smart phone security solution capable of simultaneously encrypting both voice and data. GSMK is integrating the data encryption and authentication software, SafeGuard PDA, together with the CryptoPhone Security Profile Manager directly into the PDA firmware. This will allow SafeGuard PDA to withstand a hard reset To restore a smartphone or PDA to its factory settings, which erases all applications that were installed by the user as well as all user data. In contrast, a "hard boot," also known as a "cold boot," which is performed on a computer, does not eliminate data and software, except for data  of the device. The integration guarantees companies, organizations and authorities that SafeGuard PDA will protect sensitive data stored on mobile devices without fear of misuse. It also ensures that confidential phone calls via a GSMK CryptoPhone are tap proof. This security solution combined with the optimized and secure Windows Mobile The Windows platform from Microsoft for handheld devices, including PDAs, cellphones and Portable Media Centers. Utimaco has announced the release of SafeGuard PDA Version 4.11. SafeGuard PDA Version 4.11 supports a Japanese user interface and is compatible with Asian devices.
