Utah businessman receives honor.


David Little For the tight end of the same name see David Little (tight end). David Little (born January 3, 1959 in Miami, Florida, died March 17, 2005 in Miami, Florida) is a former professional American football player who played linebacker for twelve seasons for the Pittsburgh , president of ReSyk Inc., Brigham City Brigham City, city (1990 pop. 15,644), seat of Box Elder co., N Utah; inc. 1869. It is the center of a large farm area served by the Ogden River project. Sheep, cattle, wheat, sugar beets, and orchard fruit are raised. , Utah, has been named Business Recycler of the Year.

The Recycling Coalition of Utah presented Little with the award at its Annual Conservation and Recycling Exposition, which was held June 19-20 at Salt Lake Community College Although the college does not offer four-year degrees, school officials work with the state's other institutions of high learning to ensure that credits are transferable. General education credits may be transferred to any four-year school in Utah including private schools such as , Larry Miller Campus.

The award acknowledges Little's development of the TC-350 Compounder, a machine that recycles contaminated contaminated,
v 1. made radioactive by the addition of small quantities of radioactive material.
2. made contaminated by adding infective or radiographic materials.
3. an infective surface or object.
 and mixed plastics. According to ReSyk, the compounder is the first commercially available manufacturing equipment that uses contaminated mixed plastics.

"While I may be receiving the award," Little said, "the development was a total team effort."

It is estimated that 5 million pounds of plastic will be diverted annually from Utah's landfills because of this technology.
