Utah affiliate recognized.

The Utah Music Teachers Association (UMTA) was recently recognized for its 50 years of affiliation with MTNA. At its November convention MTNA President Paul Stewart, NCTM, presented the affiliate with a plaque recognizing the feat.

To commemorate its 50th year, UMTA produced a book recognizing the history of the chapter--Utah Music Teachers Association Through the Years. The book includes a chronology of the state organization's programs and development, as we as a history of a most 30 individual local associations or chapters. MTNA Competition winners from Utah, as well as UMTA Concerto Competition winners, are listed since 1982 Utah Music Teachers Association Through the Years was edited and compiled by UMTA historian Coila Robinson and Southwest Division Director-elect Lezlee Bishop, NCTM.

Each year the national association recognizes state MTAs that achieve 50, 75 and 100 years of affiliation with MTNA.
