Using the Division's librarian beats Google.


Do you have a technical question and you can't seem to locate the answer'? Many times someone has solved a problem similar to yours and has published a journal article. The Division has partnered with University of Akron Enrollment in fall 2006 was 23,539 students.[1] The school offers more than 200 undergraduate degrees [2] and 100 graduate degrees [3]. One of the most extensive collections of polymer science Polymer science or macromolecular science is the subfield of materials science concerned with polymers, primarily synthetic polymers such as plastics. The field of polymer science includes researchers in multiple disciplines including chemistry, physics, and engineering.  and technology information in the world is available to Division members. The UAL collection includes over 1.2 million bound volumes, 1,100 journal subscriptions and over 90 electronic databases. The office is located in the Science & Technology Library at The University of Akron.

Division members receive significant discounts on library services. Services offered include literature searches, document delivery of articles and conference papers, and book loans. I work with other libraries worldwide to obtain materials not available in my collection. Additionally, I maintain a network of industry contacts. If I can't locate the information, I will refer you to someone who can.

Library services are not limited to those in the Akron area. Results from literature searches can be emailed anywhere in the world. Most articles can be emailed (PDF (Portable Document Format) The de facto standard for document publishing from Adobe. On the Web, there are countless brochures, data sheets, white papers and technical manuals in the PDF format.  documents) or faxed, as well.

Much of the information on rubber science and technology is not available via a Google search Google is owned by Google, Inc. whose mission statement is to "organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful". The largest search engine on the web, Google receives several hundred million queries each day through its various services. .
