What you don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)

"Don't know the trade." A Street expression used whenever one party lacks knowledge of a trade or receives conflicting instructions from the other party.
 about lithium battery Lithium batteries are primary batteries that have lithium metal or lithium compounds as an anode. Depending on the design and chemical compounds used lithium cells can produce voltages from 1.5V to about 3V, twice the voltage of an ordinary zinc-carbon battery or alkaline cell.  handling could hurt you. So read the material safety data sheet (MSDS MSDS Material Safety Data Sheets, see there ) on lithium batteries before you handle them.

Where do you get an MSDS? Glad you asked!

Log on to the Internet and go to: http://www.dlis.dla.mil/hmirsl

Once at the web site, click on:

HMIRS HMIRS Hazardous Materials Information Resource System  Registration Forms

Download the registration form, fill it in and then send it in. You'll get an email back with a user ID. Once you have the ID, you can click on:

Connect to HMIRS

From there, you can search by stock number, part number, CAGE code or contract number for the MSDS you need.
