IRMS Software System Provides Inventory and Patient Management for Emergency Response and Preparedness

BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) has tapped a Downers Grove, Illinois based provider of healthcare IT solutions to improve its emergency response and preparedness initiatives.

Upp has provided the industry's original Inventory and Resource Management System (IRMS) to the Louisiana DHH to manage critical inventories throughout the State's public health facilities and provide real-time information sharing with government and public health personnel statewide. The implementation included three regional warehouses, multiple clinics

and central receiving points for delivery of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Strategic National Stockpile.

In addition, IRMS will streamline the registration, triage, and treatment of patients during large-scale events while monitoring vital patient and inventory data to ensure crisis response remains swift and proactive. Louisiana's solution also includes IRMS' state-of-the-art architecture, which combines both a web-deployable application and mobile IRMS Go-Kits to ensure critical emergency management and response operations are performed regardless of the conditions.

"We are very honored to have the opportunity to partner with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals," says Carl Brewer, President of Upp Technology Software Solutions. "With IRMS, the State of Louisiana benefits from a centralized solution that enables the DHH to provide accurate and timely distribution of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, protective equipment and donated goods. Our state of the art inventory management and patient tracking solutions ensure that Louisiana has the critical tools in place to gain real-time, accurate information to manage state resources and patient care during both emergency events and day-to-day operations."

Founded in 1984, Upp offers a comprehensive suite of Inventory and Resource Management Solutions that include: Inventory Management, Asset Management, Emergency Management, Clinic Management, Patient Management and Resource Management.
