Updates to the Cambridge Guide to American Theatre.The hardcover edition of the Cambridge Cambridge, city, Canada Cambridge (kām`brĭj), city (1991 pop. 92,772), S Ont., Canada, on the Grand River, NW of Hamilton. It was formed in 1973 with the amalgamation of Galt, Hespeler, and Preston, all founded in the early 19th cent. Guide to American American, river, 30 mi (48 km) long, rising in N central Calif. in the Sierra Nevada and flowing SW into the Sacramento River at Sacramento. The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill (see Sutter, John Augustus) along the river in 1848 led to the California gold rush of Theatre, coedited by Don Wilmeth and Tice Miller, was published in 1993. Due to the exigencies of publishing, the material covered went through most of 1992. And, not too surprisingly, given the density of factual material in the guide, a sizable siz·a·ble also size·a·ble adj. Of considerable size; fairly large. siz a·ble·ness n. number of errors (most minor) were located by

Despite entreaties to Cambridge to support a new edition of the Guide, thus far that has not occurred (in part, I suspect, because of copies still in the warehouse). It has become evident over the past six years or so that most users of the Guide are not aware that the two editions are not at all the same. In any case, the updates below (primarily dates for individual entries and listings in the biographical bi·o·graph·i·cal also bi·o·graph·ic adj. 1.
