Updated hybrid modeler makes changes easier. (CAD).Morphing surfaces of an entire model and direct editing of a single face of a solid are some of the enhanced capabilities of new PowerShape Version 5 solid- and surface-modeling software from Delcam Inc., Windsor, Ont. The new morphing feature (see photos) lets you stretch, twist, or reshape whole areas of a solid without disconnecting the faces. This allows for styling changes in a single operation without extensive modification of separate design elements. You can draw a new line to replace an existing edge, or they can define an area to be changed. The software automatically smooths out transitions across the surfaces. The face-editing feature has been improved so that surface-modeling commands can be used directly on a single face within a solid, without having to break the solid into component surfaces. The software reintegrates the modified face with the solid, making styling changes easier to execute. 3D sketching sketch n. 1. When a sketch is added to a surface of a model, or if the model surface containing a sketched detail is changed, the geometries between the sketch and surface will remain linked. Once the sketch is complete, the resulting wire-frame data uses its associativity (programming) associativity - The property of an operator that says whether a sequence of three or more expressions combined by the operator will be evaluated from left to right (left associative) or right to left (right associative). to interrogate (1) To search, sum or count records in a file.
