The Public Affairs Those public information, command information, and community relations activities directed toward both the external and internal publics with interest in the Department of Defense. Also called PA. See also command information; community relations; public information. Committee is planning two sessions for the conference: a Global Forum and a Committee-sponsored special session. Nancy Brown, one of our ACEI delegates to the United Nations, will present both of these Public Affairs Committee Sessions. The Global Forum, "Child Protection: International Perspectives," will occur first. We will invite ACEI members to present and discuss issues related to child protection in their respective countries and educational settings. The Committee-sponsored Special Session, "The Convention on the Rights of the Child The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, often referred to as CRC or UNCRC, is an international convention setting out the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of children. : Promoting U.S. Ratification The confirmation or adoption of an act that has already been performed. We hope that many of you will take part in these two gatherings. Our committee is also working on Resolutions for the Conference. Lynn Staley and Eva Zygmunt-Fillwalk are beginning a draft of a Child Participation Resolution. Other members of the Public Affairs Committee, including Amanda Woods, Merribeth Bruning, Kathleen Conway, Susan Mody, Mary Jo Pollman, and Judit Szente, are working actively to fulfill other plans of action before May. Our committee has communicated via E-mail and telephone to discuss our views on timely subjects of interest and other endeavors with Sheri Levin lev·in n. Archaic Lightning.
