Improve your print mottle troubleshooting skills with this two-part virtual seminar series. Part 1, Basic Principles of Print Mottle will provide an introduction to the basic types of print mottle that can be diagnosed in offset printing. Part 2, Print Mottle Troubleshooting for Coated Paper Coated paper is paper which has been coated by an inorganic compound to impart certain qualities to the paper, including weight and surface gloss, smoothness or ink absorbency. Kaolinite is the compound most often used for coating papers used in commercial printing.  Grades, will provide an overview of sources of non-uniformity in the wet and dry coating structure that can affect print mottle.
