Unload bulk bags at lower cost.

The new Half-Frame Unloader from Flexicon Corp., Bethlehem, Pa., unloads bulk bags at lower cost by eliminating the upper frame to lift or position the bulk bag. Instead, the user's forklift or plant hoist hoist: see winch.  suspends the bag above the unit during operation. The system reportedly provides total dust containment and automatically tensions the bag spout, elongating the bag as it empties. Bag activators loosen compacted materials and promote emptying. The transition hopper comes with pneumatic pneumatic /pneu·mat·ic/ (noo-mat´ik)

In recent months, Flexicon also introduced a manual dump station with integral flexible screw conveyor and high-velocity fan that draws dust emissions into two cartridge filters. The company also came out with a low-profile weigh-batching system that uses flexible screw conveyors to feed ingredient hoppers on gravimetric gravimetric /grav·i·met·ric/ (grav?i-me´trik) pertaining to measurement by weight; performed by weight, as a gravimetric method of drug assay.
